Skill Points stay with the item
The new system does not describe Skill Points as one global pool. EA says they are tied to the player item on which they were earned, including points from that item's objectives.
Before committing resources, record the complete item identity and visible path. A player's name alone is not enough when multiple programs or versions can exist.
- Record the exact program and item version
- Check every visible prerequisite before spending
- Treat an objective reward as item-specific unless the interface proves otherwise
Evos can reshape an item
EA lists several possible Evo effects: a higher maximum OVR, new upgrade paths, added or improved abilities, broader chemistry, lower ability-point costs, and changed archetypes.
Those are capabilities of the system, not a guarantee that every Evo offers every effect. The specific Evo screen and its eligible-item rules control the decision.
Chaining creates an order-of-operations question
EA says some Evos can be chained and others are self-contained. That means a path may depend on which Evo is applied first, which eligibility gates remain, and whether a later program recognizes the modified item.
Until the game exposes those rules, save screenshots or notes for the starting state, each step, and the resulting state. A dated sequence is more useful than a static final rating.
Treat the Captain as a reversible decision—within stated limits
EA says the Ultimate Captain can be powered down and swapped, which reduces the risk of choosing one permanent player for the full year.
The official deep dive does not spell out the live button path, cooldowns, retained progress, refunded resources, or whether all Captain choices are always available. Verify those details before promising that a swap has no cost.
